Summary
Trainees will be offered placements in forensic settings with different client groups to enable them to fulfil the requirements approved by the HPC for registration as a Forensic Psychologist and is equivalent to the BPS diploma, Stage 2.

Assessment
- 50% Coursework 1: Forensic placement report (6000 words max) and diary (30,000 words max - 300 words per day approx)
- 50% Coursework 2: Forensic placement report (6000 words max) and diary (30,000 words max - 300 words per day approx)
Assessed by end of summer vacation
Educational Aims
To enable students to undertake assessment, intervention and evaluation work in different forensic settings and with different client groups, communicate with other professionals, devise and offer training, and carry out research in forensic environments.Learning Outcomes
By the end of the module the trainees should:
- Be able to write concise, informative reports of completed work for the future reference of other professionals.
- Have an appreciation of the practical constraints and difficulties in putting theory into practice.
- Be able to integrate the behavioural approach with other interventions common to their particular agency (e.g. "behavioural casework" - the amalgam of behavioural methods and social casework).
- Be able to plan and conduct research in forensic environments.
- Be able to identify training needs, develop and deliver a training package.
