Summary
Theories of HRM, HR planning and strategic HRM; recruitment and selection; compensation and benefits; learning, training and development; engagement and employee retention; performance appraisal; compensation; and talent management; issues to be covered within a global context and with reference to cultural diversity, work-life balance and ethics.
Target Students
Available to Part I or Part II undergraduate Business School or BA Hons Geography with Business or BA Hons Modern Language with Business students who have taken/are taking BUSI1029/BUSI1055/BUSI1086 Organisational Behaviour. Also available to Exchange students.

Classes
- One 1-hour workshop each week for 5 weeks
- One 1-hour tutorial each week for 2 weeks
- One 2-hour lecture each week for 11 weeks
200 hours as follows: 22 hours of lectures, 5 hours of workshops and 2 hours of tutorials, ie 29 contact hours, 30 hours workshop preparation and review, 14 hours tutorial preparation, 60 hours independent study and 60 hours assessment preparation.
Assessment
- 50% Coursework: 2000 words
- 50% Presentation: Group Presentation - 10-15 minutes individual presentation.
