Summary
This module concentrates on the major investment and financing decisions made by managers within a firm.
Target Students
Part I and II undergraduate students who have taken BUSI1008 Quantitative Methods 1B AND also either BUSI1033 Introduction to Finance OR BUSI1020 Business Finance. Also available to BSc Hons Financial Mathematics students who have taken either BUSI1033 Introduction to Finance OR BUSI1020 Business Finance. Also available to Exchange students.

Classes
- One 1-hour tutorial each week for 2 weeks
- Two 1-hour-30-minute lectures each week for 11 weeks
Assessment
- 30% Group Presentation: 15 minutes. Reassessment of this module is 100% exam (2 hours).
- 70% Exam (2-hour): In person exam. Reassessment of this module is 100% exam (2 hours).

Educational Aims
The idea that managers should operate in the interests of shareholders is examined and its consequences explored.The module looks at what should happen in practice, but also what does happen. Where theory and practice apparently diverge possible reasons are explored.Learning Outcomes
