Summary
This module introduces skills and resources students will need for academic research, and writing at postgraduate level, and introduces students to methodological and theoretical issues which arise in many areas of theology and Church History. Topics to be covered may include IT skills, library resources, use of the web, the development of arguments, academic style and sensitivity to language, formatting and referencing, presentation skills, and the relationship between academic research and religious commitment.
Target Students
Only available to postgraduate students in the Department of Theology and Religious Studies

Printed study pack with primary and secondary sources and questions for consideration; Contact with the module tutor by email, Moodle, Skype, or letter on points of interest and questions requiring further clarification or explanation.
Assessment
- 100% Coursework 1: 1 x 2250-3250 word essay plus 1 x 750 word commentary on the research project

Educational Aims
