Summary

This module enables students to obtain practical research experience, to include a range of activities such as literature searching, study design, ethics, obtaining participants, data collection and analysis, and writing reports. The actual content will depend on the individual Internship.

Target Students

Students registered on MSc in Psychology Research Methods or other PGT or PGR courses in Community Health Services or Psychology.

Contact time & personal study- 200 hours

Assessed by end of summer vacation

Educational Aims

This module aims to provide training and development in personal and research skills tailored to a specific project.

Learning Outcomes

Transferable skills include: 

Cognitive Skills: problem-solving, analysis & synthesis, critical evaluation, creative thinking, independent learning and group learning. 

Professional Skills: team work, oral and written communication, presentation skills, professional/ethical conduct. 

Technical Skills: expanding knowledge using library and internet-based facilities, bibliographic and information technology skills.
