Summary
This module will allow students to understand how psychology relates to contemporary issues and debates. Students will have the opportunity to specialise in one area and consider the deeper implications for the world and society. Topics may vary from year to year but may include topics such as health behaviours, the environment and climate change, psychology of women and others. Students will write an extended essay in the specified area, guided by an academic.
Target Students
BSc Psychology, MSci Psychology, BSc Psychology and Cognitive Neuroscience, BSc Hons Psychology and Cognitive Neuroscience with Placement Year, BSc Hons Psychology with a Year in Computer Science, BSc Hons Psychology and Cognitive Neuroscience (International Study), BSc Hons Psychology (International Study), BSc Hons Psychology with Placement Year, Jt hons Philosophy and Psychology ,Natural Science students, Liberal Arts students.
Classes
The module will have lectures to support skills such as writing, critical thinking and the coursework as well as specialist seminars on a range of topics. Topics may vary from year to year but will be advertised in advance.
Assessment
- 100% Coursework 1: Portfolio of poster and essay
