Educational Aims
The aim of this course is to develop a clinically-relevant understanding of the best, evidence-based information regarding Physiotherapy management of people with neuromusculoskeletal conditions. Hands-on, exercise, and cognitive based reasoning and skills will be developed. Specifically, there will be afocustowards long-term painful conditions which impact significantly on global health resources. Students will benefit from an enhanced understanding of intellectual and practical dimensions of the management of people with neuromusculoskeletal conditions.Learning Outcomes
Identify and translate key relevant literature and practice guidelines related to the management of people with neuromusculoskeletal conditions.
Demonstrate the application of evidence-based data and mechanistic theoretical evidence to relevant case presentations.
Apply evidence-informed assessment strategies to identify essential health-related characteristics of people with long-term painful conditions.
Employ informed physiotherapy interventions including manual and cognitive approaches, and physical activity interventions in the management of people with neuromusculoskeletal conditions.
Understand the application and role of relevant and evidence-based health outcome measures relevant to this population.
Organise and manage multi-media resources for both the acquisition and dissemination of thought, information, and literature related to this population.
