Summary
This course is a continuation of the management theme introduced in the foundation year and continued throughout Semesters III and IV. It builds upon the students’ ability to manage their own learning and reflect upon and evaluate their academic and clinical performance. It will start with a review of historical and contemporary professional issues and how these may impact on the roles and responsibilities of the physiotherapist and/or sport rehabilitator. These include:
- Self-development (lifelong learning, development of CV and interviewing skills);
- Clinical development (clinical effectiveness, audit and evidence based medicine);
- Professional development (promotion of therapy and its contribution to health care);
- Interprofessional learning (working and learning with and from others in the health and social professions);
