Summary
This course will consolidate and extend students’ knowledge of the theories and principles underpinning teaching, learning and assessment. Specifically, this is done in relation to health care subjects, and considers education in both academic and practice settings. The contextual factors that influence the role of health care teachers will be explored and the implications of these for student learning in modern health care settings will be debated. The tensions that exist between theory and practice will be examined in the context of contemporary policy issues and research.
