- 100% Exam 1 (2-hour): Students may access eBNF or BNF (British National Formulary) during the exam.

Educational Aims
This course aims to prepare the student with sufficient knowledge of the general principles of prescribing; pharmacology, law, accountability and consultation skills to prepare for prescribing education once on the professional register.Learning Outcomes
Discuss the pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics of drug groups, when and how these may be altered and the impact this would have on prescribing and patient management.
Outline the impact of changes in physiology and drug-drug interactions on drug response with particular reference to own field of practice; neonates, children, young people and the elderly.
Outline the nature of influences on prescribing practice at individual, local and national levels.
Demonstrate understanding of the legal and professional accountability issues in relation to prescribing practice.
Understand the importance of accurate and timely communication in relation to safe prescribing practice.
