Summary
This course considers:
- Further opportunities for students to explore important aspects biosciences that form the foundation to safe and effective person centred nursing care;
- The application of biosciences to nursing practice remains an essential component of the course;
- The linking of theory and practice using a series of field specific case studies. These case studies have been selected to develop an understanding of biosciences within a clinical context;
- The application of biosciences to practice to enable students to understand the clinical situations they may encounter during placement;
- The integration of biosciences with the clinical learning modules. This integrated approach will enable students to demonstrate how a detailed understanding of biosciences can promote physical and mental health.

200 hours of learning delivered by a variety of methods, including self-directed study
Assessment
- 100% Exam (1-hour-30-minute): Students are required to undertake an online examination to test their biological science knowledge

Identify, retrieve and evaluate biosciences research and understand its relevance to evidence-based nursing practice.
