Summary
This module is a practical course which aims to develop advanced skills of comprehension and analysis of a variety of English texts (fiction and non-fiction) and of translating accurately and fluently into French. It aims to enhance accuracy and fluency of written French through attention to the grammar, syntax, vocabulary and register of both languages and to develop a self-conscious translation practice.
Target Students
Core module for UG students on plan R120; optional for students on R900, RT11 or R9N1 (single language pathway only) on the condition that they achieved a mark of 60 or more for MLAC2082 or MLAC2145.
Classes
- One 1-hour-30-minute seminar each week for 10 weeks
The School of Cultures, Languages and Area Studies operates an attendance policy. The details of this policy can be found in the student handbook on Workspace and in module handbooks. One 1.5 hour seminar per week per student.

- 100% Exam 1 (2-hour)

Educational Aims
To develop advanced skills of comprehension/analysis of a variety of English texts and of translating accurately and fluently into French. To enhance student's accuracy and fluency of written French through attention to style, idiom, register and attention to the grammar, syntax, vocabulary of both languages, develop a self-conscious translation practice.Learning Outcomes
