Summary
Learning in this module is based on the study of target language written, audio and audio-visual texts, which are analysed for meaning, structure, grammatical forms and lexis. The texts, on topics relevant to an understanding of the Portuguese-speaking world and society in general, provide the basis for the development of Portuguese comprehension (written and aural) and expression (written and oral) to a level commensurate with C1/C2 of the Common European Framework of Reference. In addition to explicit and implicit knowledge of the Portuguese language and advanced communication, the module supports the development of high-level linguistic mediation skills, particularly in the area of translation.
