Summary

This module consolidates and expands the language skills and knowledge about the French language and French and Francophonie cultures you developed in French 1 beginners. Learning is based on the study of written, audio and audio-visual input at an appropriate level of difficulty and the analysis of aspects of language such as lexis, grammar and syntax. The texts, on topics relevant to an understanding of the French-speaking world and society in general, provide the basis for the development of French comprehension (written and aural) and expression (written and oral) to a level commensurate with B1/B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference. In addition to explicit and implicit knowledge of the French language and communication skills, the module supports the development of linguistic mediation skills and helps prepare you for the challenge of living, studying and or/working in a French-speaking country.
