Summary

This module concentrates on revising the basic skills acquired during previous study and aims to develop speaking, writing and comprehension skills in more complex situations. Grammatical structures of the language are practised with authentic materials. In addition, students are required to undertake a programme of autonomous learning.

Target Students

Post-beginner/early intermediate level in the target language. Native speakers or graduates of their mother/father tongue language secondary schools are not advised to take. This module is open to all students provided their home department approves, but because 20-credit and 10-credit are combined in this module and both groups of students will be taught the same in this module, priority of seats will be given to students doing the module as a compulsory element of their degree. Thus, there is only a limited number of places for 10-credit students on this module. Students are reminded that enrolments which are not agreed by the Offering School in advance may be cancelled without notice.
