Educational Aims
To introduce the student midwife to the maternal anatomical and physiological adaptations that occur in pregnancy, labour and the puerperium and discuss their relevance to care.Learning Outcomes
Knowledge and understanding
Describe the anatomical and physiological adaptations that occur in pregnancy, labour and the puerperium.
