Advisory statement :

The content in this module will focus on mental and physical health issues from across the spectrum of human conditions.  Each topic will be addressed sensitively and students will be signposted to support should they be distressed by any of the content that is covered.  Each teaching session is clearly labelled so students will be aware of the subject matter before engaging with it.

Target Students

Students of BMedSci/ BMBS with a foundation year (Nottingham A108; Lincoln A18L)

Assessment

Assessed in both autumn & spring semest

Educational Aims

1. To facilitate students to uptake knowledge of human genetics, as applied to common genetic disorders to inform the study of Medicine2. To enable students to acquire basic understanding of the structure of different cell types, with an emphasis on the function of those in the human body in health and disease as to underpin future UG med study
