Provide an understanding of the underlying neurophysiology and pathology associated with several common CNS disorders and the neuropharmacology of currently available medication.
This module describes the neurotransmitters and pathways involved in normal brain function and provides a broad understanding of how changes in these contribute to abnormal function. The module also explains the pharmacological mechanism of drugs used to treat these CNS disorders.
Target Students
Compulsory for students taking degrees in Neuroscience. Optional for students taking other degrees in Life Sciences.
