Summary
The module will consider a number of topics in the law of tort in depth, building on the Foundations of Tort module. The examination of these topics will be more in-depth, and will involve focused and critical consideration of topics that are not covered in depth in the course. The topics will vary from year-to-year in order to ensure that the topics include those where important developments have taken place. Topics may include compensation, liability, defamation, and privacy.
Target Students
Only available to UG Year2 or Final Year students in the School of Law andexchange students hosted by the School of Law.

This module is taught through a combination of lectures and tutorials.
Assessment
- 100% Exam (3-hour): Electronic examination.

Educational Aims
To study significant areas of the law of tort not previously covered in depth and in context, with comparative perspectives where appropriate.Learning Outcomes
By the end of the module students should be able to:
1. Understand in depth the areas of tort law studied.
2. Explain the key principles of the law in those areas.
3. Interpret and apply the principles of law to novel factual situations.
4. Analyse the law in the areas considered and compare and contrast different legal principles.
5. Critically consider the law in the areas examined and formulate proposals for reform.
