Summary
The module introduces the foundations of the four pillars of practice: Clinical practice, leadership and management, research, and education, which enables the individual to enhance their practice. Individuals will enhance and develop skills in patient assessment and improve their professional practice to provide safe and effective person-centred care, developing knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology and allowing the assimilation of information to inform patient assessment.

This module will be delivered in a variety of ways which may include lectures, seminars, etc.

Educational Aims
The module aims to develop the individual’s ability to synthesise, evaluate and analyse clinical problems using expertise and clinical knowledge, seeking out and applying the relevant research and evidence base, clinical assessment, diagnostics, interventions to make clinical decisions.Learning Outcomes
Using critical analysis, demonstrate enhanced skills in clinical assessment and reasoning, including sound underpinning knowledge and understanding of anatomy and complex applied physiology, treatments and interventions to guide the selection of specialist diagnostics, providing and evaluating evidence-based judgements and decisions regarding care.
Critically explore effective leadership skills in the multi-professional team utilising enhanced problem-solving strategies, to effect change in unpredictable situations. Demonstrate systematic understanding of leadership to monitor, develop and appraise staff and learners within a scope of practice.
Demonstrate an enhanced ability to systematically and critically analyse and evaluate relevant research, evaluation and audit, using effective methodologies to explain and support application to clinical practice in relation to local, regional, and national strategic priorities for patient populations.
Critically explore and synthesise education techniques to develop, deliver and evaluate education and training opportunities within scope of practice and in response to changes in practice.
Utilising effective methodologies to explain and support impact, apply critical analysis and evaluation of participation in service and team improvement, demonstrating and promoting originality and innovation in clinical practice to support a culture of excellence within the wider health and care team
Demonstrate accountability through systematic application of professional leadership, supervision, role modelling and mentoring in situations that are complex and unpredictable and instil confidence in others by displaying clinical credibility and the ability to work across boundaries to promote evidence-based, person-centred care.
