Summary

This course explores the physical, mental and psychosocial influences the effect an individual’s health across the life span. On completion of the course students will be able to :

Demonstrate knowledge of physiological developments from pre conception to end of life
Apply social determinants of health to individuals and communities across the lifespan  
Consider the impact of mental health and wellbeing for individuals at differing stages in their lifespan
Explore approaches to improve health status at  differing stages throughout the lifespan
Examine the influence of culture and diversity on health behaviours across the lifespan
 

Target Students

Students on the BSc Health promotion and public health academic plan

Classes

There will be 60 hours tutor led teaching - the remaining 140 hours are allocated for self-directed study activities, tutorials and assignment support

Assessed by end of designated period
