Summary
In this module students will explore professional identity and responsibilities within a multidisciplinary team. They will also form and work in an interprofessional team to understand the complexity of health and social care systems and their role within them, specifically in regards to integrated care systems and collaborative practice more broadly.
Target Students
Year 1 students studying in health and social care courses.
Classes
Each participant will meet for one three-hour workshop to complete the required activity.
Assessment
- 100% Participation: Must attend a workshop. Pass is given based on attendance. There is only one workshop that the participants must attend, so the pass will be 100% or 0%

Educational Aims
Upon completion of the module participants will have a better understanding of their professional identity and how they would work within an interprofessional team during their career. They will also have a good understanding of an integrated care system and its application in practice.Participants are expected to develop their skills around team working and problem-solving within an interprofessional context, analytical thinking, and presentation skills, as well as to gain an understanding of roles and responsibilities within health and social care and to begin to develop their own sense of interprofessional identity.Learning Outcomes
Develop a greater understanding of professional identity, including within the context of a health and social care system.
Understand integrated care systems and summarise the basic health and care needs of a population.
Identify the unique challenges of delivering care in remote or rural areas.
Analyse the different roles of health and social care workers in delivering care.
Design a basic health and care system that meets the specific needs of a population.
Evaluate the impact of a specific health and care challenge on the wider system.
