Summary
Students will be introduced to a range of techniques and skills for writing their own prose fiction, and for reflecting on their own creative practices. Students will also be guided through explorations of existing examples of prose fiction in order to consider matters of structure, style, tone and other key features of fictional narratives and lyrical fiction. Attention will also be paid to the social and cultural indices and settings of creative practice. Students will be encouraged to develop both a critical and practical understanding of their own output. The pod will provide prompts, directions and advice to generate new work in prose fiction. Students will also be given the opportunity to reflect on and strengthen their own craft and voice as writers, and to develop their feedback and revision process.
