Summary
Through this pod, students will investigate the historical and social effects of the settlement of Scandinavian peoples in England during the Viking Age. The pod takes a regional focus, exploring the types of linguistic, documentary, and artefactual evidence for the arrival, settlement, and integration of these Scandinavians in the East Midlands region of England, as well as their ongoing influence on language, identity, and popular imagination
