Summary
This pod will explore a variety of Romantic poetry, covering canonical and non-canonical works by writers from a range of backgrounds. Attention will be given to Romantic poetics, and the conditions of literary production at the time, as well as close-readings of individual works. Students will also be encouraged to interrogate the term ‘Romanticism’ exploring its meanings at the time and its subsequent use by literary historians.
