Summary
The purpose of the Project is to provide students with the opportunity to undertake independent research into a topic appropriate to Communication and Entrepreneurship transfer and problem solving. In undertaking the project, students should draw on and extend material presented in the course. The project has several aims, beyond reinforcing information and methodology presented in the taught modules. Students will gain experience by:
- addressing the challenges involved in developing the commercial potential of ideas and projects or enhancing communication within a business/commercial environment;
- giving a PowerPoint presentation that describes some aspects of the work achieved;
- producing a written report in a style that would be useful, not only to those involved in their field of investigations, but also to potential investors and employees.
Target Students
Compulsory for students on MSc Communication and Entrepreneurship. Not available to any other students.
Classes
A project supervisor and moderation will be allocated by the end of February. The research project will commence in June, after the end of Examination period. The student(s) should manage all aspects of the project, arranging meetings with the supervisors, as required. The word length of the project should be 10,000-12,000 words. Private study time approx. 430 hours.

- Knowledge of business administration and entrepreneurial practices, elementary knowledge of business and patent law, and knowledge of commercial and workplace discourse and communication

- An ability to make technical, economic and communicative assessments of the practical application of projects and ideas, including market appraisals, project planning and project management
