Summary
Contexts is about national and international contexts for education and considers ideas from the philosophy of education about the purposes of education in different national settings. This introductory module introduces a philosophical, comparative and observational focus which runs throughout the course.
This module consists of 200 hours of study. These will include activities based on engagement with materials on Moodle, journal articles, book chapters, educational policy documents, artefacts, audio files, digitalised video and website links. Students will be encouraged to inquire into and develop their own educational practices, beliefs and values.
