Summary
This module focuses upon broad areas within the field of learning theory such as constructivism, socio-constructivism and metacognition. Critical approaches are encouraged as well as a grasp of the practical importance for teachers of understanding how children learn. The module theorises areas of classroom practice including questioning, collaborative learning, talk for learning, planning for learning, assessment, and differentiation, The outcome will be the equivalent of a 4000-word piece of coursework showing how learning theory influences classroom practice.

Only available for the Postgraduate Certificate in Educational Studies (EMTTP) students.

This module consists of 200 hours of study.
Assessment
- 100% Coursework: 4000 word written assignment or equivalent presentation plus 5 minutes Q&A.
