Educational Aims

The main aim of this module is to familiarise students with advanced theory and techniques in macroeconomics. The course assumes a knowledge of macroeconomics at standard undergraduate level, and students who need to refresh their knowledge should consult a standard textbook such as Dornbusch, Fischer and Startz, Macroeconomics.

Learning Outcomes

A. Knowledge and Understanding. Students should demonstrate:
A1. A broad knowledge of advanced core areas of economics, including economic concepts, principles and tools
A2. An understanding of advanced theoretical methods (including graphical and mathematical representations of economic ideas)

B3. Apply economic theory to economic institutions and policies.
