Educational Aims
The purpose of the Dissertation is for students to demonstrate familiarity with a particular area of economic theory or policy and the ability to apply a specific analytical technique. The Dissertation must include a contribution that is your own (i.e. not just a summary of the ideas of others). In many cases, your contribution will be a piece of empirical analysis, usually a case study or testing a standard model on data you have collected. In some cases, you may undertake a literature survey in which case your contribution would be to bring the literature together in a new way and derive implications or lessons.Learning Outcomes
