Summary
Introduction to the research methods of modern laboratory experimentation applications and practicalities, considered in the context of specific experiments and programmes of experiments. In addition to lecture style classes, the module includes a practical element during which students will work in groups to design, implement and present a small-scale experiment.
Target Students
Available for PGT Economics students studying ECON4017 Microeconomics: Consumer and Firm Behaviour or ECON4015 Microeconomic Theory. Also available for PGR Economics students.

Educational Aims
The aim of the module is to introduce students to the use of experimental methods in economics. The module is aimed, primarily, at those who wish to develop knowledge of experimental methods as research tools. The module will cover both methodology -- why and how experiments in economics are conducted and specific topics from the experimental literature with a focus on developing understanding of experimental methods and their applications.Learning Outcomes
