Summary
You will conduct a piece of empirical and/or theoretical research in artificial intelligence, under the supervision of a member of academic or research staff and using an appropriate methodology. Where appropriate, your project may also be conducted in conjunction with an external organisation.
Target Students
Students on the MSc Computer Science U7PCMPSC, U7UCMPSCAI in the School of Computer Science.
Classes
Structured project supervision through regular meetings with academic supervisors during term time. Additional meetings with industrial mentors where relevant. Full-time independent field, library or programming work throughout the summer period. Minimum of 5 contact hours supervision in total, and there is regular contact, at the very least every two weeks
Assessment
- 80% Dissertation: Up to 20,000 word dissertation (exc. appendices) in printed and electronic form (PDF). Any source code must also be included with electronic submission.
- 10% Project 1: Project plan including ethics clearance.
- 10% Presentation 1: Presentation/software demonstration of work and results.
