Summary
This module continues the study of classical Greek from the level reached in Intermediate Greek 1. It continues with the study of Greek grammar and focuses on the reading of one or more classical Greek texts.
Target Students
Available to all Postgraduate level 4 students in the Department of Classics and Archaeology, exchange and subsidiary students. The module should be taken with CLAR4037 in the same academic year. Any students with a valid reason why they cannot do both modules, or with other queries, should contact the module convenor.

Classes
- One 2-hour workshop each week for 10 weeks
- Two 1-hour seminars each week for 10 weeks
Assessment
- 70% Coursework: Individual portfolio of exercises
- 30% Exam (1-hour): 1-hour exam

Educational Aims
This module aims to further develop your ability to read, understand and translate Greek. The module will consolidate grammatical knowledge acquired, expand working vocabulary, and increase your fluency at reading and understanding Greek literary texts.Learning Outcomes

literary, cultural and historical contexts for Greek literature;

Read Greek texts independently and with a high level of accuracy and understanding;
translate unseen a straightforward passage in Greek from poetry or non-technical prose.
