Summary
Individual Research - the Management Project requires the student to undertake independent research in a topic relevant to business management. The specific topic is subject to an approval process. Course members enrolled on a specific MBA variant must undertake a Management Project related to their named variant.
Students are encouraged to initiate contact and expect access to their supervisors equivalent to at least four meetings over the course of the management project.
Target Students
Only available for FT MBA students. Not available to students that have/are taking BUSI4183 Management Project (Business Analysis Project) (FT), or BUSI4185 Management Project (Business Analysis Project) (attached to an Apprenticeship Degree).
Assessment
- 70% Project: 15,000 words. Re-assessment: 15,000 words individual report.
- 30% Presentation: 30 minutes (20 min plus 10 minutes Q&A). Re-assessment: 15,000 words individual report.

Educational Aims
The Management Research Project requires students to undertake independent research into a topic relevant to business or management. Students will review relevant literature, conduct research, analyse data, and formulate recommendations with the guidance of a dissertation supervisor.Learning Outcomes

Intellectual skills
This module develops:
• Being able to think critically and be creative: manage the creative processes in self and others; organise thoughts, analyse, synthesise and critically appraise. This includes the capability to identify assumptions, evaluate statements in terms of evidence, detect false logic or reasoning, identify implicit values, define terms adequately and generalise appropriately
• Being able to solve complex problems and make decisions: establish criteria, using appropriate decision-making techniques including identifying, formulating and solving business problems; and the ability to create, identify and evaluate options; the ability to implement and review decisions
