This course provides students with an understanding of prescriptive analytics from an operations management perspective. Through this course, students will learn the concept of Operations Management, covering the design and management of processes. As most operations-related problems are complex, optimisation is used to support decision-makers to deal with those problems. This course will incorporate laboratory sessions using optimiser software so students can gain hands-on experience in how to implement mathematical models to get optimal solutions when solving operations-related problems.
Re-assessment format is decided by the school.
Target Students
Year 3 (Part 1) International Business Management students
Classes
- One 2-hour lecture each week for 11 weeks
- One 2-hour laboratory each week for 5 weeks
Assessment
- 40% Coursework 1: One 2500-word group project.
- 60% Exam (Written) (1-hour-30-minute): One 1.5-hr exam.
