Theories of HRM, HR planning and strategic HRM, recruitment and selection, reward, training and development, engagement and employee retention, performance appraisal, learning and development, compensation and talent development; issues to be covered within a global context and with reference to cultural diversity.
Re-assessment format is decided by the school.
Target Students
Available to all students with the required pre-requisites.
Classes
- One 2-hour workshop each week for 6 weeks
- One 1-hour seminar each week for 2 weeks
- One 2-hour lecture each week for 11 weeks
Assessment
- 70% Coursework 1: One 2000-word individual coursework
- 30% Group Presentation: One 15-min group presentation

This module develops a knowledge and understanding of:
- The dynamic and changing nature of business and the consideration of the future of organisations within the global business environment, including the management of risk.
- Leadership, management and development of people and organisations including the implications of the legal context.

- The development of appropriate policies and strategies within a changing environment to meet stakeholder interests.
- The need for individuals and organisations to manage responsibly and sustainably and behave ethically in relation to social, cultural, economic and environmental issues.

Intellectual skills:
This module develops:
- The ability to analyse facts and circumstances to determine the cause of a problem and identifying and selecting appropriate solutions.
