Summary
This module provides a grounding in practical aspects of quantitative analysis with an emphasis on understanding and analysis of data. Students will learn to apply statistical techniques to formulate and solve quantitative business problems. Students will develop skills in the use of spreadsheets for statistical analysis and in interpreting statistical results. A group project forms part of the assessment allowing students to improve their team working and management skills.
Target Students
Qualifying Year students on the Business School Management variants. Students are unable to enrol onto this module, if they are completing/have completed BUSI1008.
Classes
- One 1-hour un assigned each week for 9 weeks
- One 1-hour seminar each week for 3 weeks
- One 2-hour lecture each week for 11 weeks
Assessment
- 30% Coursework: Group coursework 2500 words. Reassessment: 2-hour in person written exam.
- 70% Exam (2-hour): In person written exam. Reassessment: 2-hour in person written exam.
