Educational Aims
The specific objectives of the course are as follows:Provide students with a basic understanding of computer technologies.Provide students with a basic understanding of computers and components.Provide students with the opportunity to develop critical understanding of organisations by considering the basic principles of operations managementIntroduce students to digital revolutions and its impact on business strategy, operations and management.Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the module, students are expected to have developed knowledge and skills in these areas:
Knowledge and understanding
Demonstrate basic understanding of common computer technologies.
Demonstrate understanding of the underlying concepts and principles of operations management.
Demonstrate understanding of business operational and management dynamics driven by digitalisation.

The ability to describe different types of computers and its use.
The ability to identify the suitable application for a given task or problem.
The cognitive skills of critical thinking, analysis and synthesis, including the ability to identify assumptions, to detect false logic or reasoning, to define terms adequately and to generalise appropriately.
Qualitative problem solving and decision making skills.
The ability to organise ideas gained from theoretical understanding of operations management and apply them in the organisational context.
The ability to describe and evaluate business responses towards technological changes.
Professional/ practical skills
The ability to identify the use of computers and technology in business in general.
