Summary

The content of the module focusses on career management skills and the knowledge required to gain success within the global job market. Learners will have the opportunities to evaluate their own skills, interests, experiences and goals to identify suitable opportunities. Training will be given in core competencies and techniques needed to be able to make applications that have positive impact on employers.

Target Students

Only availableto BSc Biotechnology year 2 students.

This module comprises a series of seminars, tutorials and problem based learning.

Educational Aims

The aim of this module is to train biotechnologists in career planning and acquire the core competencies and skill set sought by employers. The module has a specific emphasis on reflective learning and self-evaluation for professional, academic and personal development.

1. Demonstrate an understanding of the career planning and the global job market  

2. Identify career pathways and the skills sought by employers
